How do I read the price history chart?

0:14 · no sound

The chart on an item page draws one cheapest-listing price per day for the condition you picked. Point at it to read a day, pick the market, and switch between 30 days, 90 days, 1 year and all time. All of it is free.

Step by step

  1. Open an item and find the “Price history” card; under its title the sub-line, such as “Field-Tested · Steam”, names the condition and the market.
  2. Read the line from left to right: it has one point per day, the high and low prices of the range sit on its left edge, and five dates run along the bottom.
  3. Move the mouse over the chart, or drag a finger sideways, to see the price and date of any day; the arrow keys, Home, End and Esc do the same without a mouse.
  4. Pick another wear in the condition row and the line and the sub-line change to that condition.
  5. Pick the market with the chips “Steam”, “Skinport” and “CSFloat”, and the range with “30d”, “90d”, “1y” and “All”. None of them needs an account.

Good to know

  • The chart opens on Steam, whatever your price source is, because Steam has the longest history; an item Steam does not list opens on Skinport.
  • The line under the chart says what is drawn. Days before 7 Aug 2026 are sale prices, later days are the cheapest listing, so a step at that date is the change of measure and not a price move.
  • “All” goes back as far as the market has prices (Steam to 2013) and draws one average per week instead of one point per day.
  • If a market has no prices for the item in that range, the chart stays where it was and the line under it says so.
  • On Doppler-style items the chart follows the finish you picked, and Steam is left out because it sells all finishes under one listing.
  • Supporters also see a “Compare this item” link under the chart.
  • An item with no price history has no chart card at all.
  • Past four months the dates along the bottom change from days to months, and past five years to years.
